Our Story
Step back in time at The Brookdale Diner, a retro 1950s-style family restaurant located at the Historic Brookdale Lodge. Nestled among the towering redwoods, this nostalgic eatery brings classic Americana to life with vintage décor, chrome accents, checkered floors, and a jukebox spinning timeless rock 'n' roll hits spanning the decades.

Juan Alvarez, known around here as Junior, leads our Brookdale Diner kitchen. He comes from generations of restaurateurs in the Santa Cruz Mountains and knows his way around the classic comfort food dining experience. Junior and his team cook with the same love and determination that drew lumberjacks, movie stars, and mobsters to the Brookdale Lodge in the early decades of the 20th Century.
